This song version was first released in an edited form on the Dot.Com album in 2000, although the full unedited version eventually appeared on the 2009 digital Live Album Adobe Disfigured Night. This version appears on several compilations and is considered the Residents' definitive song recording. The Residents covered the song for the first time in May of 1997 at the Adobe Disfigured Night show. The song was released May 7th, 1966, while The Residents were still living in Shreveport, Louisiana, and by June 11th, it reached number 1 on the US charts.
